All New Yahoo Mail

Kali ini Yahoo Mail meluncurkan desain baru tampilan aplikasi emailnya. Di blog perusahaannya, CEO Yahoo Marissa Mayer menyatakan bahwa interface baru yang lebih ringan dan bersih untuk Yahoo Mail ini tersedia untuk semua platform, baik itu web browser, Android, iOS bahkan Windows 8. Sayangnya hanya pengguna iPhone iOS 6 saja yang bisa menggunakan Yahoo Mail app (huaaaaaa…)

Dengan berbagai fitur baru yang ditawarkan, Yahoo kini tampaknya lebih fokus ke tampilan yang sederhana dan mengoptimalkan fungsi utama emailnya. Di versi webmail, fungsi core webmail akan muncul pas kita akan menggunakannya. Misalnya, kalo kita ga milih satu emailpun dari daftar email maka icon trashnya ngga akan aktif.

Mengutip wawancara dari General Manager Yahoo Mail & Messenger Vivek Sharma dengan ABC News, kecepatan akses adalah salah satu target kunci perombakan Yahoo Mail ini. Peningkatan kecepatan dari login sampai masuk inbox disebutkan mencapai 40%. Sementara proses penulisan email (compose) antara 10-15% lebih cepat dari versi sebelumnya. Dengan begini dari sekitar 110juta user/hari yang dimilikinya, Yahoo menghemat 36juta menit dengan akses yang lebih cepat tersebut.

Implikasi lainnya tentu akan menghemat batre device juga. Ah iya, versi iPad masih belum ada. Dan karena iPhone-ku masih iOS 5, jadi belum bisa nyobain Yahoo!Mail app nya deh 🙁

Nunggu versi iOS 6 yang lebih stabil dulu.
